Dr Kafeel Ahmed Khan

Dr Kafeel Khan is a suspended lecturer at the Department of Paediatrics, BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur. He has an MBBS and an MD (Paediatrics) from KMC, Manipal, Karnataka. He joined BRD in 2016 as a permanent commissioned employee and was the head of encephalitis ward when the horrific children’s deaths occurred at the hospital in 2017. Dr Khan has written the Manipal Manual of Clinical Paediatrics for MBBS Students. He also has a published paper on preterm babies.

Dr. Vinod K. Paul

Vinod is a full-time Member at NITI Aayog (National Institute of Transforming India). He has been a member of the faculty at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for over three decades and Head of Department of Paediatrics for several years. Apart from being an eminent neonatologist, Vinod has contributed to India’s national programmes on reproductive and child health, and on nutrition. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the global Every Newborn Action Plan. Vinod holds positions in multiple international fora on child health, has been a co-chair of the Board of the Global Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and a member of the UN Millennium Project Task Force on Child and Maternal Health. A well-known published researcher, he is a recipient of the prestigious Dr B.R. Ambedkar Centenary Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research by ICMR and the Public Health Champions Award by WHO.

Vrinda Grover

Vrinda is a lawyer, researcher, human rights and women’s rights activist based in New Delhi. As a lawyer she has appeared in landmark human rights cases and represented women and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence, victims and survivors of communal massacre, extrajudicial killings and custodial torture, sexual minorities, trade unions and political activists. She has contributed to the drafting of several milestone laws in the country including the 2013 Criminal Law Amendment to the law against sexual assault; the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012; the Prevention of Torture Bill, 2010; a law for protection from Communal and Targeted Violence.  A member of many government committees in India and a prominent commentator in the media, she is presently a Research Fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi. She is a member of the UN Women India Civil Society Advisory Group, and was also named among one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2013.
