Aruna Chandrasekhar

Aruna Chandrasekhar is an independent, environmental journalist and researcher based in Bangalore who tells difficult stories around questions on India's development choices, energy needs and subsidies and the future of frontline communities at risk in a fast-warming world. Since 2011, Aruna has focussed on under-reported land and environmental conflicts - from the human rights impacts of state-owned coal companies in Central India (as a researcher with Amnesty International) to reporting on floods in Kerala. Last year, she won a Red Ink award from the Mumbai Press Club and a Shriram Financial Journalism Award for her stories.
