Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore
Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State (I/C) for Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, has served in the army for 23 years between 1990 and 2013. As part of his stint in the army, he held prestigious appointments and served in the anti-insurgency operations in J&K and other active areas. Col Rajyavardhan Rathore has represented the country in the sport of shooting and has won 25 international medals at various championships for Double Trap Shooting. He was the first Indian, post-Independence, to win an individual Silver at the Athens Olympics in 2004. He was awarded the Padma Shri, Ati Vishisth Seva Medal, Arjuna Award and Khel Ratna Award for his exceptional services to the Army and sports.
Col Rathore was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Jaipur and sworn in as the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting in November 2014. In September 2017, he was given the additional charge of Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports.
