Samar Halarnkar is the editor of Indiaspend.org and factchecker.in, both non-profits focussed on data-driven public-interest journalism and fact checking. A journalist for 28 years, his last full-time job was Managing Editor of the Hindustan Times. He holds a Master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of California-Berkeley and a fellow at the Nieman Foundation, Harvard University. He is the author of two books.
