Vivian Schiller is a longtime executive at the intersection of journalism, media and technology. She currently heads the Civil Foundation, an independent not-for-profit committed to the sustainability of trustworthy journalism around the world. She is also an advisor to Craig Newmark Philanthropies. Vivian has held a number of executive roles in the media industry which include the Global Chair of News at Twitter. Vivian was also Senior VP & Chief Digital Officer, NBC News. Earlier, as head of CNN Productions, she led CNN’s long-form programming efforts and produced series and documentaries which won three Peabody Awards, four Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards, and dozens of Emmys.
Vivian is a Director of the Scott Trust, which owns The Guardian.
