Maya Mirchandani

Maya Mirchandani is an award-winning Indian journalist. She teaches media studies at Ashoka University and is a Senior Fellow at the Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation, where her research is focused on preventing and countering violent extremism, deradicalisation, misinformation and hate speech. Before academia, she was foreign affairs editor at NDTV. Maya has won the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award twice, the RedInk Award for reporting on human rights, and the Exchange4Media Broadcast Journalism Award for international affairs reporting.
