Nikhil Kanekal

Nikhil Kanekal is a journalist turned interdisciplinary business leader who has worked with data startups and mature media companies. He began his career as a staff writer with Mint from 2010-2012, reporting on corporate disputes, law and the judiciary. Since then he has been a copy editor and digital publisher at Deccan Herald, the head of strategy for The Printers Mysore, head of marketing at Crediwatch, a risk analytics fintech, and was part of the founding team at Paper.vc, a private market insights platform. Most recently he was engaged as a consultant by Mint (HT Media) working on newsroom strategy, digital subscriptions, audience engagement, brand and events. Nikhil graduated as a Toni Stabile fellow with a master’s in investigative journalism from Columbia University and holds a bachelor's degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He tweets @nkanekal.
