Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty

Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty is a Delhi-based journalist. She is national affairs editor of The Wire and also its chief of bureau. Apart from keeping an eye on national politics, she covers the Northeast for The Wire. Sangeeta was the first woman from Northeast India to be employed as a journalist in the United News of India office in New Delhi. She won the Inclusive Media Fellowship instituted by the Centre for Development Studies in 2011 and won the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award for feature writing in 2017.
